MINIMARU 2023 Tanabata Festival

Tanabata, the Japanese Star Festival, is a captivating celebration that takes place on July 7th each year.

Originating from ancient Japanese folklore, it revolves around the tale of Orihime and Hikoboshi, two celestial lovers who reunite once a year.

During Tanabata, people write wishes on colourful strips of paper called tanzaku and hang them on bamboo trees.

Come in store and explore the essence of Tanabata by writing your own wishes on tanzaku and hanging them from our bamboo tree!

Come into any of our stores and take part in the festival

This year, we are also partnering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Feel free to pen your wish on the tanzaku paper, suspend it upon our bamboo tree, and consider making a gold coin donation or directly contributing to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
