This Japanese furoshiki wrapping cloth carries the mashu KYOTO "umemichinaga" design, a modern reinterpretation of Heian-era pieced paper collage patterns combined with plum blossom motifs. In pink, the pattern is traditionally associated with good relationships and happiness.
Baba Senshokojo, the Kyoto dye house behind the cloth, hand-dyes each piece to bring out the layered detail of the design. The finished cloth suits gift wrapping, table styling, or use as a soft carry wrap for everyday items.
