Doesn’t pour well

It’s a nice enough little pot, however the main reason I bought it was to heat milk or chai etc and pour easily into a cup, but it’s way worse at this than even the no-lip/spout saucepan I used to use. The liquid inside goes straight down the side of the pot and slips everywhere instead of in a stream from the lip/spout. It’s poorly designed. I thought there might just be a knack to it, but I’ve been trying all sorts of pouring methods and it’s almost always a disaster. I usually have to pour over the sink because half of it just spills. Also if you have a gas stove the base is too small to easily balance over the flame.
