This lightweight, traditional Japanese clay pot is beautifully crafted with a chrysanthemum motif and designed to preserve heat. Why Seasoning Is Important:

You only need to do this before the first use—no need to repeat for subsequent uses.

Preparing Your Donabe Before First Use

Fill the pot 80% with water and bring it to a boil.
Reduce to low heat, add a water-dissolved mixture of flour (see guidelines below), and stir well.
Simmer for 5 minutes, turn off the heat, and let it cool completely.
Rinse thoroughly, dry completely, and it's ready to use!
