A one-loaf (1 kin) square shokupan tin with a sliding lid, made from heavier 0.7mm steel plate. The thicker steel holds and spreads heat well, so the loaf rises evenly and bakes up soft and fluffy with a fine, even crumb.

This almost cube-shaped tin produces a square-sectioned milk loaf. The sliding lid closes easily and will not lift as the dough rises; bake without it for a rounded top. The body is aluminium-plated steel with a stainless steel reinforcing rim.

Features

  • Thick 0.7mm steel plate for good heat conduction and even baking
  • Sliding lid that stays in place as the dough pushes up
  • Bake with the lid for a square loaf or without for a domed top
  • Aluminium-plated steel resists rust

Specifications

  • Size: Approx. 13.5 × 14.2 × 13.3 cm (with lid)
  • Weight: Approx. 0.622 kg
  • Material: Steel (aluminium plated, 0.7mm thick), reinforcement: stainless steel (18-0)
  • Capacity: Approx. 1,700 ml
  • Country of Manufacture: Japan
