Bring the tradition of Japanese woodcraft to your kitchen with the Kai Seki Magoroku Hinoki Chopping Board. Made from genuine hinoki cypress, this board is naturally gentle on knife edges — the medium-soft timber absorbs blade impact, helping your knives stay sharper for longer.

The sides are coated with urethane resin to prevent water absorption and darkening, while the thin, lightweight profile makes it easy to handle and store.

Knife Edge Preservation

Hinoki wood is known for its soft and gentle texture, which helps to minimize dulling or damaging the edge of the knife during cutting.

Resin Treatment

Because the side is processed with resin, it dries quickly and suppresses darkening.

Antibacterial Properties

Hinoki wood contains natural oils with inherent antibacterial properties. This characteristic helps to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the surface of the cutting board, making it a hygienic choice for food preparation.
