Made in Sakai, Osaka — Japan's historic centre of bladesmithing — this double-sided combination whetstone pairs a medium #800 grit with a fine #4000 finishing grit on opposite faces, taking a blade from initial sharpening through to a polished, food-ready edge with a single stone.
Produced under the Sakai Ichiji name using a synthetic alumina abrasive, it suits both carbon-steel and stainless kitchen knives. Soak the stone in water for around five minutes before use, and use the included angle-guide holder to help maintain a consistent sharpening angle throughout.
Features
- Medium #800 face restores dull or damaged edges before finishing.
- Fine #4000 face refines the edge to a smooth, precise finish.
- Synthetic alumina construction suits both carbon-steel and stainless blades.
- Included angle-guide holder helps maintain a consistent sharpening angle.
