Diatomite stone is a naturally occuring material that dries instantly when wet. The Shimoyama Grey Diatomite Pad is an eco-friendly way to replace traditional bath mats. Crafted from natural diatomite stone, this pad offers instant drying when wet and provides a range of advantages for your bathroom.

Maintenance and Care Instructions:

If the surface feels powdery, simply wipe it with a wet towel before use.
For water stains, rinse the mat under running water and allow it to dry.
After washing, ensure the mat is completely dry before using it again.
If stains persist, gently rub them off with a damp cloth. For more stubborn stains, use fine-grit sandpaper (No. 300-400) to restore water absorbency.
Avoid using soap or detergent, as they can lead to stains, reduced water absorbency, and mold formation.
Regularly dry the mat in a well-ventilated, shaded area, approximately twice a week in summer and three times a week in winter.
After each use, thoroughly dry the mat before storing it upright.

Super absorbent

Quick drying, not immediate drying, this non-slip mat is perfect for…well…all the time. I recently injured myself and have to be very careful making my toilette. I can bathe and be assured that I will not have any more accidents. The peace of mind this gives me is amazing. Looks great too!

Great

This is a excellent mat for the bathroom that is really useful especially after shower. No more wet and yucky towels that stays damp for a long period of time. It instantly dries the foot soon as you're out of the shower. Might feel a bit weird for some because there's a slight "sticking" happening on the mat, but it actually is just absorbing as much water as it can. It dries quickly too for the next person to use. The 40 cm x 30 cm size that I bought is just the right size for our bathroom. Just need to be careful as the bottom of the mat can get slide easily on tiles (hopefully they include a grip sticker or pad at the bottom to avoid this).

Can't go back to using just a regular bathmat

I heard good things, but this was surprisingly such a useful purchase. When stepping on it, it feels like the stone absorbs all the water from your feet making it super dry after getting out of the shower. It is a bit cold, so I like to step on a regular bath mat afterwards, but it no longer gets super soggy, Would highly recommend.
